Founded in
1995, the Town of Fort Myers Beach
governs a special area of Lee County.
Estero Island houses some of the
prettiest and more easily accessed
beaches in the area. The area touts its
reputation as the World's Safest Beach
because of a lack of undertow and its
friendly shallow water. People can walk
the entire 7-mile length of the island
along its sandy shores. Fun activities
abound, including parasailing, casino
cruises, a high-speed ferry to Key West,
charter fishing and more.
